Website is being refaced

Finally! Yes, finally having my website redesigned so if you try to access it you will get a construction website notice. I am hoping by the end of this Labor Day weekend I can get this thing back up and running. I am excited about this face lift since it has been a long time in the works. Stay tuned…..

MJ

I have made a few post in the past listing different websites I have found along my adventure into this craziness I call writing.  Often the list was short and I would receive a request for more website listings (this is a good thing mind you).  So here I am again with more….. :)

Later this week I will be adding a new Character Interview (one you will love to hate).

Happy Writing!

{I am not affiliated with any of these websites and receive no compensation when mentioning them.}

Uh I have a blog?  I mean it has my name on it and I take notice the writing is quite similar BUT the last update was ummmm???  Yes, it has been a while since coming back to this beautiful quiet spot.  The delay could not be prevented nor avoided.  I took a hiatus from all things writing over this summer and recharged the old battery.  I picked up the third novel several weeks ago and kicked started that baby back into submission.  I consider it half way completed, but often when I have said this with book one and two the story continued.  I do have an outline and like all outlines they often zigzag instead of going straight.

My energy around Twitter is returning and my deep desire to promote my fellow writers is at full tilt.  You will see weekly tweets about the writers on The Independent Authors Network (look for #IAN1).  I must do more for this group!  Heck, I must do more for my own page.  I will also be promoting my SmashWords page one a daily basis.  Promotions everywhere!  I must rearrange my Facebook page and turn it from a private matter into a “Like Me” page.  Oh and everwing.com will be getting a facelift.  I have already begun its efforts with hopes sometime in September!

I feel like I went to sleep for a long time and awoke a new writer.  I believe every writer should take a break from their art for a minimum of a month.  When you awake from the experience you can feel the energy begin to grow. It is good to be back. Get ready for the weekly blog updates along with the character interviews.  These too shall return.  Now to get the artist behind EverWing to get jumping…..hhmmm.

Happy Writing,

MJ

I continue to build my on-line resource library to the point where the resources get lost in the mix.  It is a quick scan for what my current need requires and I brush by those areas waiting for me to come along and try them or look at or even sign up.  There are more blogs / forums and writing groups any one writer could ever follow or join.  Don’t get me started with Twitter because this alone is a tremendous resource but in a blink of an eye I have had over 300 tweets fly past my screen.  I do a quick scan (similar to my resource list) and search for whatever key word is the fancy for the day.  Hash tags are good for this, but often, they too miss the mark.

I now maintain two different folders within my browser which helps remind me to sit down and seriously look at the items within.  If I don’t I may explode or be left out of that one important conversation which will lead to my ultimate goal (sit on my very own island and write my famous fantasy series which is now playing on the big screen and reads in 30 different languages… :) ).  In the meantime, here are a few items I have found useful in my day to day writing adventure and wish to share them with all…..

(I HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH ANY OF THE LISTED)

http://www.podomatic.com/login   Create a free podcast

http://www.rizzotees.com/home.php    Get t-shirts made for your book

http://bookmooch.com/    A book trading site. Great way to start trading your book around for other books.

https://www.myidentifiers.com/   Get your own ISBN

http://calibre-ebook.com/   An ebook management tool (***AWESOME***)

http://www.pdfonline.com/convert-pdf/   Convert what you have to a pdf……

Try these out and if you have any you wish to share please post away or direct us to your blog/forum. :)

Happy Writing!

My weekly fantasy character interview has been posted.  This week is my second in a long interview with a character who often steals the spotlight from my main character, Gavee.  Datta is one of the female characters living in this fantasy world we call the 5 Islands.  She has lived a tough life and is probably stronger than most males she comes across.  Her heroism shines through out the tale with her own series in the making.  Not kidding she will have her own series!  Outlining it as we speak. :)

Enjoy!

My weekly fantasy character interview has been posted.  This week is the 2nd part interview with my main character Prince Gavee of EverWing.  We begin to open up his mind a little more and start to delve into his psyche.  The answers divulge a little more than I wished for but most interviews do……right? ;)

Enjoy!
